Best Places to Buy a Car in the Philippines

in Car

Recently, I’m looking for the best car for my family because I’m thinking it will be harder to commute once our next baby arrives. I don’t know whether it is a good decision to buy a car but it will greatly help a lot.

I’ve noticed during my vacation, it takes long hour of commuting when we use public transportation plus the super jam-packed people riding the MRT or LRT. It is even harder because you don’t know when a bus or jeep will arrive at the place where you’re waiting.

Here in South Korea, the public bus has a time schedule which is displayed in every bus stop so commuters will know the time of arrival of the bus on that place. It is a good system they have implemented to make the traffic good and for the people’s convenience.

Anyway, buying a car for the first time can be hard and dangerous. Why? Because of your excitement and eagerness to drive your own car, you may be victimized by flooded cars or worst, a purchase from car napping.

So I would like to make some list on the best places and websites where you can buy your dream car whether it is brand new or second-hand car. I will not be buying this year, perhaps next year, I’m still planning and considering many things before I buy.

This post will also remind me where to go whenever I finally decided to buy our own car. I hope this will be a good resource also for your car-buying project.

1. Local Dealer in you Area

Definitely your local dealer will be the best place to buy a car. I put this first on the list because it is easier to buy nearby for many reasons. As a common sense, you will not buy a car from far away places. For example, if you’re living in Makati, you will not buy your car in Cebu or Davao.

I would suggest to look first at a nearby car dealer located in your city, whether it is a dealer for brand new vehicles or second-hand cars. One benefit that you can get when you do this is you can bring your car easily to the dealer whenever there’s a maintenance or problem. It can save a lot of your money and time.

I assume there are several dealers that you know in your local area especially if you’re living in a big city. There will be many options or dealers that you can choose from depending on the brand of car you want.

A good way of looking for a car dealer in your area is by directly visiting the website of the car manufacturer you’re planning to buy. I guess there’s an information about it.

2. Sulit.com.ph

You cannot really buy a car directly from the Internet but it is the starting point of your purchase. You still need to meet your agent so that all things will be explained in proper manner.

Sulit.com.ph is the biggest classified ads in the Philippines today. If you want to know the prices and features for a certain brand of car, Sulit has definitely has it.

As you visit the site, you will notice that the site dedicates a tab where you can browse and look for the car you want. You can see it in the topmost left corner. There are many types of car posted on their site. It is a mix of brand new cars and second-hand one.

What I like in looking for a car with Sulit is that you can filter your search like the brand and model of your prospect car. You can find also many agents who advertise many promos and their selling price for each car.

I think many people are using Sulit before buying a car in the Philippines since you will know immediately how much is the price and the additional benefits that you can get. However, I have noticed that almost all agents give the same perks for their customers. I’m not sure if this is also the same when you go directly to the dealer’s showroom.

Anyway, if you want to know basic information about your prospect car, go to Sulit.com.ph. I’m sure most of your questions will be answered. There are many agents that you can ask from or request for quotations.

3. Ayosdito.ph

Another growing and becoming popular online classified ads in the Philippines is Ayosdito.ph. Maybe you have notice that they have also TV commercial, same with Sulit.

I think they have really a good profit from the ads they are displaying in their sites because they can pay for a TV ad to promote their business. Anyway, Ayosdito is a close competitor of Sulit and based on my browsing experience with the site, it is on the level of Sulit.

One of the best things about Ayosdito is that it consolidates all ads by region. So if you are living in Bulacan, you can select Region 3 and all the ads in that region will be displayed.

I think this is good if you are looking for a car nearby your city or town. You can also make some filters depending on what are you looking for. In this case, you will select car or vehicles and then you can type the brand of the car.

4. A Friend or Relative Selling Car

Unless you don’t have a good relationship with them, buying a car from your friend or relative is one of best options you might have. This type is only applicable for those who are planning to buy second-hand car.

Buying a car from your friend or relative can remove the fear of car nap cars which become popular in the past years. At least here, you already know the true owner unlike when you deal with people in Sulit or Ayosdito whom you don’t know at all.

Perhaps, you can even get a big discount when you buy from them. Still, you have other options if you don’t agree with the price, just don’t make promises that you will buy his car.

Final Note

This article gives only several best places where you can buy your own car. Maybe you have other places that you know, it will be great if you can share it in the comment section.

As an advice, don’t rush when buying a car since it is expensive. There are many cases of repossessed cars because the owner cannot pay anymore the amortization.

Before buying your first car, study and know first how can you pay the monthly due. The span of 5 years is long time and there are many things that might happen during that period so you should be prepared.

Actually, it is also my concern. Thus, I’m thinking to buy a second-hand car which I can pay in full or with lower amount than brand new ones.
