Occasionally, I’m writing an article about Bible-related topics focusing on personal finance, self-improvement, business, debt and money. Here’s why.
Poor people have special place in the heart of God. But does it mean that God wants us to be poor in terms of financial aspect? Let’s see what the bible teaches about being poor and being rich. Actually, if you were born in a poor family, it was not your fault and it doesn’t mean that God wants you to be poor all the time of your life.
Like many of us, I think you also want to be rich and enjoy the things in this life like owning your own dream house, a nice car that you can drive, a healthy family, and so on. Do you know a person who wants to be poor? Personally, I have not encountered that kind of people but I know many friends and relatives that want to be rich.
God doesn’t want us to be poor and there are lots of bible verses that will support that claim. Here are some of those verses that I am saying.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10 King James Version (KJV)
God wants us to be abundant in all areas of our life: spiritual, financial, social, family, career and so on. He wants us to give a life that is abundant in the things of this life and the things after this life.
Are you afraid what will happen tomorrow? How your needs will be met? Remember this passage once more in Philippians 4:19,
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Finally, God will not make us poor and lack nothing because He said,
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? – Matthew 6:26
