I want to update all OFWs out there that you can apply for your OEC through online application so you don’t need to go to POEA or its branch saving you lot of time and effort. I have done this twice now so you will know that it works and legitimate. It was also published by POEA in several newspapers few months ago but maybe some people still don’t know about it.
If you’re an OFW and returning to Philippines for vacation, you should apply for overseas exit clearance (OEC) as early as possible when you arrived the country. It is very important that you get this document because it is a proof that you are a legitimate overseas worker. Without OEC, you cannot leave the Philippines and may require you to apply in the airport causing flight delay in your part.
The very good development these days is that you can get OEC without visiting POEA or its regional branch. Several years ago, there’s no online facility that you can use to apply for this clearance. However, these days, even if you are outside the Philippines, you can get it via online application at https://www.bmonline.ph/.
You must provide several information so that you can register successfully as an OFW. Below is the screen capture showing you what to input when registering to the site.
In my personal experience, I have applied twice for OEC without visiting any POEA office. I have done the application through the Balik Manggagawa website and pay the fee through Metrobank internet banking. You can also use other banks’ online banking such as BPI, BDO or RCBC. If you have no internet banking, you can also pay through any Bayad Center, just ask a relative or friend to do it for you.
Below is my first OEC I get from online application. You can get your overseas exit clearance from the account you have created after you have completed the payment.
It is easy to apply for OEC via online application if you have your previous OEC and you can pay through internet banking. Once completing the payment, you will be able to print the new form in your Balik Manggagawa account. I hope this helps you and you may share it with your colleagues to keep them informed.
