If you want to open a bank account in BDO Philippines, just follow the procedures below and complete the needed requirements in opening an account.
1. Visit the BDO bank of your choice and bring the following requirements for opening a bank account. It would be better to go to SM mall, for sure there is a BDO bank inside.
- Two (2) valid and recent IDs with your name and picture
- Two (2) Photocopies of your ID
- IDs acceptable for opening a savings account can be: Passport, Driver’s license, PRC ID, NBI clearance, Police clearance, Postal ID, Voter’s ID, Barangay certification, GSIS e-Card, SSS ID, Philhealth card, Senior Citizen Card, OWWA ID, OFW ID, Seaman’s Book, Alien Certification of Registration/Immigrant Certificate of Registration, and other Government office IDs
- Billing Statement and 2 photocopies in order to verify your address. Billing statement can be Electric bill, Telephone bill, Water bill, Credit Card bill, Cellphone bill etc.
- Two (2) copies 1×1 latest ID picture

2.) Upon entering the bank, proceed to New Account Desk. Tell the bank officer you want to open a bank account and then fill-up all forms that will be given to you.
3.) Give the initial deposit for your savings account. Your initial deposit should be equal or more than the maintaining balance.
Banks allowed the initial deposit to be below maintaining balance when opening an account but you need to add money later to it so that it will be above maintaining balance.

After that, send the forms back in the Philippines with the initial deposit.
Some instances they allow that case. You can try to do it.

If you don’t left money on it, it will be closed because the bank will charge you P200+ for all accounts below its maintaining balance. When there’s no money on the account and the bank updates it records, it will automatically close all accounts with zero balance. I think it is very hard to open again a bank account after it has closed.

It is closed I think because of inactivity.
the bank charges P200 for dormancy fee when the account falls below the maintaining balance.
When the bank found there’s no money in the account for long time, it will be automatically closed.

Hi, For reference I found out some of the answers to my question.
With A BDO ATM card you can withdraw at Bancnet, ExpressNet and Megalink ATM’s There is an 11 peso transaction fee at each.
You can withdraw at Mastercard. Cirrus and Visa Plus ATM’s with a withdrawal charge of 3.50 USD.
I did not yet find out the withdrawal limits for these.
I do know that for BDO ATM’s the single transaction limit is 25000 Peso’s and the daily transaction limit is 50000 Peso’s or five times per day, whichever comes first.

Your money in savings account will earn only 0.5% in a year. To give you an idea, say you have P10,000 in it.
Your total money after one year in your SA is only P10,050. The interest is only P50.

If you’re husband opened the account, the account name should be in his name not yours. I think it is the reason he can withdraw from that account.

hello po sir Gil. My husband recently opened a Kabayan Savings Account (passbook and atm card) intended for our allotment. Just recently, ginamit ko ang atm card to check the peso balance. I found out that i entered the wrong pin for 2 consecutive times. “How many hours do i have to wait para ma reset yung number of wrong pins that i have entered? hello po. my friend is asking po – kasi nagkaroon sya ng credit card problem sa BDO, bayad na sya ng full but BDO is asking still for the lawyer’s fee of 15k. Hindi na nya pinansin ito, and super late na rin sila nagbigay ng notice, like 6months before they claim na kulang pa daw payment nya.
And nagbabalak naman po syang mag-open ng account sana sa BDO kaso yun nga po may past problem sya. Will he be able to deposit pa rin for his baby?
