When choosing a mutual fund, one suggestion I can give to you, is to select a MF that has consistent performance in the past 5 years. Meaning, it has a consistent average of return for the past 5 years which is given in percentage.

For example, if the mutual fund has a 25% 5-year average, it means that the MF consistently gives an average of 25% each year for the past 5 years. It is a much higher than what a savings account can give because the common interest a SA gives is only 0.25%.

Final Notes

That’s why it is important that you diversify your investment. Do not put all your money in the bank because it earns very small interest, even in time deposit.

Study and understand how mutual fund works so that you will be able to know its benefits and disadvantages. The key to good financial investment is learning how legitimate investment works and you act upon what you have learned.
