Hi, I have a Peso Passbook Savings Account and my remaining balance is below P100. What if I deposit an amount less than P5000 (which is my maintaining balance), let’s say about P1500? Will I be charged with P300 immediately? I was told once by a BDO teller that whenever I reached below the maintaining balance, my savings will be charged with P300. What do you think? Is this true? Thanks!

Hi, he can still deposit money but the problem is when withdrawing the money from the ATM since he or you doesn’t know the PIN code.

hi! i applied for a bdo peso savings account with atm. does that mean na pag nagdeposit ako sa peso savings account ko with my passbook, pwede ko yun i-withdraw using my atm card? kung ano yung balance ko sa passbook, yun din ang balance ko sa atm card? thanks! 🙂

Gil May 28, 2011 at 12:32

Hi Krystal,

yes you are right. Your passbook and ATM will always have the same balance.

Is there a possibility that once you open an account in Philippines(BDO),you would be able to check on your account or even withdraw any cash amount using your atm card(BDO)in Taiwan?

Gil April 21, 2011 at 03:32

Hi Magz,

If there’s a BDO bank in Taiwan you ca do it.
If no BDO bank, you cannot withdraw.

if i would sign up for Junior Savers Club.. the minimum amount of money which i can deposit every month(?) is 500.00.?

Gil March 16, 2011 at 09:12

Hi J-Anne,

The P500 is the first deposit for opening an account. Not necessarily you will deposit P500 every month, it depends on you if you want like that.
I think Junior saver account is for kids only.

J-Anne March 16, 2011 at 06:40

Hello, every how many months or weeks do i have to deposit the initial amount if ever i signed up for the Junior Saver Club.?

kristin p. November 8, 2010 at 02:59

is the kabayan account only for those who have a family member working abroad? 🙂

Gil November 10, 2010 at 23:05

Hi Kristin P.,

The Kabayan account is intended for OFW or their relatives.
It is a remittance account with no maintaining balance provided that you will remit money into it every 4 or 6 months.

@gio: your bdo atm card is activated using bdo atm machine. upon issuance, an instruction listed on a piece of paper is given with your atm card. insert your card in the machine, enter any 6 digit pin, press “other services” button, select pin change, enter desired/new 6 digit pin, then re-enter new pin to confirm. activation is 24 hours.

Gil October 27, 2010 at 22:59

Hi Gio,
All ATM card dhould have PIN. It is attached on the card or the envelope when you forst got your ATM card from the bank. You cannot use an ATM if you don’t know the PIN.

FUGE October 18, 2010 at 14:03

yung initial deposit ba na P5000 sa passbook eh magshoshow din sa ATM?

Gil October 20, 2010 at 07:30

Hi Fuge,

Yup you’re right. You can see it in your ATM balance.

Triple I Consulting Inc August 25, 2010 at 02:02

The 2nd post was right, you need to contact your own branch via email or phone. I am sure they would be able to track your transactions. Also, as a reminder, don’t just post your bank account number online. We all know that hackers can easily tracked your money. Better safe than sorry.

zenaida serapio August 4, 2010 at 13:44

i have an acct#2360118400. at santa rosa. sm. branch in laguna. my problem is that i lost my passbook. but i have change already my atm #. how can i know if my deposit that i made in dubai is still intact. cause rght now i am here in canada. when i am trying to balance it in dubai it doesnt show…cause all the reciet was in my daughter which she could not found. i have for your kind response.

thank you very much

Gil August 4, 2010 at 22:54

Hi there! I think it would be better if you contact your branch directly. You may ask your daughter to call your bank on how to resolve the problem. I think if you deposited the money properly in your account, the money will be credited to it and the bank will have all your transactions history. Thanks for visiting this blog.
